Introduction_
Before there was an animated series, Tomy came up with is arguably one of the best ideas ever to grace this planet: Zoids. The very first models were tiny little wind-up models that were not really hard to build. But back then in the early 80's it was a new and unseen thing and was welcomed. The world was further shocked when they introduced new and more complex models. They evolved further into battery operated models and so on. They enjoyed great success in Japan and in Europe, but never really enjoyed the same success in America. They tried several times under various names such as Zoids, Zoids 2, Robosrtux and others. Tomy gave up for a while but then re-released their models along with some new ones. This time Hasbro picked up the license, and with the support of the shows they're hailed as the next holiday must-have. But Zoids are far more than just toys, their almost have a life of their own.

The Zoids models are some of the best models ever created. Resembling animals or dinosaurs, the models are designed to move etheir through a wind-up device or a battery-operated motor. The models first come in plastic trees(trees are what hold all the pieces together when molded). One must cut out and assemble the Zoids themselves. This gives the owner a greater sense of accomplishment. Unlike many things we buy today, we rarely have the chance to see how they're put together. This gives people the opportunity to do just that. After they are assembled, one has the option to add various decals. In the end, you are left with a model which you helped in the actual creation of it.

The models are a must-have for any true fan of the franchise, if you don't have one, buy one now! The smaller and easier ones are the least expensive obviously, so it is recommended that a beginner start small like a Helcat or a Cannon Tortoise. Although it seems like theyre easy to build, they require skill nd patience if you want it to come out just right. It's a skill building hobby which not everybody can boast to doing. One warning though, once you start, you'll never start. I started with one, now I own 13 and I keep adding more every month. But trust me, its worth it_
